The Wall Fern

The wall fern (Asplenium ruta-muraria) is a sail boat from the family line (Aspleniaceae). It grows mostly on walls. Also, the wall rocks to navigate. It is a plant that prefers chalky surfaces to grow.

Leaves 3-15 cm long. The petiole is longer than the blade. The latter is divided into roughly triangular and leaflets which are round, triangular or diamond shaped. The blade is two-to threefold suspension.

The spores are long and thin and sit at the base of the leaflets. They form a whole when ripe. Between June and October are the spores mature.
